My name is Sherry Shartzer also known as Sonshine! I'm a born and raised California girl transplanted to New York City.

It's only been over the last couple of years that I discovered my passion for cooking. I think all of my friends got tired of every single one of my posts  on social media sites containing my latest food adventures (both knock-it-outta-the-park GOOD and epic fail BAD) so they encouraged me to start a food blog.

 

Being a Southern California girl, Mexican food is my absolute favorite. Good Mexican food in NYC is a rare commodity, so making my own Mexican dishes is my favorite go to cuisine. However, the cultural diversity of NYC opened my mind to several other international cuisines, such as: Thai, Israeli, Italian, Greek, etc.
